A few week’s ago, I posted an article about \u8ff7\u9727\u4e2d (Into the Haze), a new text adventure game for Chinese learners<\/a>. Imagine an interactive graded reader, where the story develops based on your choices and you have to pay attention and make wise decisions to win through.<\/p>\n

Actually, there’s no need to imagine it, because I just uploaded a video of me playing\u00a0 a small part of the game. The text and audio from the game is in Mandarin, but to show how the game works, my own commentary is in English, and I also summarise what’s going on in case it’s too hard or too fast to follow. Also, in the actual game, you can pause whenever you want and use the built-in dictionary.<\/p>\n

The game takes place after a catastrophe that left the city covered in a poisonous haze. As the main character in the game, you have to go into the haze to find your lost brother. Here’s the video of me playing the game for roughly twenty minutes:<\/p>\n
