I especially like that you included not only lookup tools, but also explanations of why stroke order matters and how it connects to handwriting more broadly.
I run HanziStroke(https://www.hanzistroke.com), a website focused on Chinese character stroke order reference and practice. In case it’s useful for your readers, it might be a helpful supplementary resource alongside the tools already listed here.
Either way, this is a very useful roundup for learners who want to better understand how to write characters correctly by hand.

There are still digital dictionary pens like that, but I doubt that what you’re looking for here exist. Why do you want it? My guess (I haven’t looked) is that few people want that kind of product when they can just use their phone/tablet/computer to get the same result for free.

something that ONLY functions as a look up tool for chinese stroke order? and is offline no internet required.

I remember in the 2000-2006 or so some ESL students had a “physical, digital dictionary” that only functioned as that for them to look up words. It was about 6-10 inches in size. Not to big but not too small either heh.

I really need something like that. Please help! Maybe these “singular” function items/machines need to be re-invented so to speak. I’m sure they would help many many people focus on one task at hand. 😀 :*)

Thank you for both pointing out that the link no longer works and especially for finding the new one! I have updated the article accordingly!

FYI, the mainland PDF seems to have moved to http://www.moe.gov.cn/jyb_sjzl/ziliao/A19/201001/W020181228294361117660.pdf
